Summary
- Crime against women reduced by nearly 20% in one year.
- Over 1,425 charge sheets filed within 60 days last year.
- 284 offenders convicted in crimes against women.

In the past year, Lucknow has witnessed a significant decline of nearly 20% in crimes targeting women, a direct outcome of robust enforcement and advanced surveillance mechanisms. The Lucknow police commissionerate has embraced a zero-tolerance policy, intensifying policing to expedite justice and ensure harsher penalties for perpetrators.
Investigators prioritized forensic and medical evidence, leading to swift case resolutions and timely report submissions. Over 1,425 charge sheets were filed within a 60-day period, preventing legal delays from aiding offenders.
Through 'Operation Conviction,' the police effectively utilized scientific evidence and strong prosecution strategies. This initiative resulted in the conviction of 284 individuals accused of crimes against women during the 2025-26 period.
To further bolster women's safety, Mission Shakti centers and pink booths have been established in all 53 police stations. Lucknow is the first district in Uttar Pradesh to provide dedicated CUG mobile numbers for each Mission Shakti center, enabling direct contact with the police. Regular patrols by pink patrolling units near educational institutions and public areas enhance visible policing.
