Seven jailed for daring London watch and art store raids

A network of seven men has been brought to justice for a string of smash-and-grab robberies targeting luxury London stores throughout the summer of 2025. The group successfully stole items valued at £146,356 over four months. Their methods involved using vehicles, such as a Ford Fiesta, to ram store entrances, and employing sledgehammers to break windows and doors.

The raids compromised several high-end establishments, with stolen goods including watches, jewellery, fine art, and cash from safes. Two unsuccessful burglary attempts were also recorded by the group. One of the convicted individuals was on license for murder at the time of his involvement in a robbery that alone netted nearly £60,000 in watches and jewellery.

All seven defendants pleaded guilty and received sentences at Kingston Crown Court. Their convictions ranged from multiple counts of burglary to attempted burglary and unrelated robbery offenses. The longest sentence imposed was six years imprisonment, while others received sentences of varying lengths, including suspended sentences with community work.

Authorities highlighted the significant impact of these crimes on business owners and local communities. The Metropolitan Police emphasized their swift action, identifying common patterns across the attacks to link them to a single criminal network. Forensic analysis and CCTV inquiries were crucial in apprehending the suspects, sending a clear message against such criminal activities in the city.
