Lok Adalats Settle 55,000+ Cases, Award Over ₹17 Crore

Last Saturday, National Lok Adalats held across Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, and Ambala saw a significant turnout of litigants seeking amicable dispute resolutions. These events successfully settled more than 55,000 pending and pre-litigation cases.
Collectively, the settlements and awarded compensation surpassed ₹17 crore. In Yamunanagar, six benches resolved 14,996 cases, awarding over ₹3 crore. Kurukshetra's Lok Adalat, chaired by District and Sessions Judge Dinesh Kumar Mittal, disposed of 16,785 matters from a list of 19,911, with settlements reaching ₹9.6 crore.
In Ambala, seven benches facilitated the resolution of 23,536 cases. These included 121 matrimonial disputes, numerous criminal and civil matters, bank recovery cases, and cheque bounce incidents. The total compensation ordered in Ambala exceeded ₹5 crore, highlighting the widespread impact of these judicial efforts.
