Lok Adalat Postponed: New Date Set for Jan 10
8 Jan
Summary
- National Lok Adalat rescheduled to January 10, 2026.
- Focuses on compoundable traffic offenses, excluding serious cases.
- Registration is mandatory; walk-ins are not permitted.

The National Lok Adalat, previously set for December 13, 2025, has been officially rescheduled to January 10, 2026. This adjustment was made because the Delhi High Court designated December 13 as a regular working day. The Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA) has confirmed the new date, aiming to streamline legal processes by utilizing non-working days for such events.
The upcoming Lok Adalat will primarily address compoundable traffic offenses, providing a convenient avenue for vehicle owners to settle minor violations. Excluded from this session are serious violations such as drunk driving, hit-and-run cases, fatal accidents, and any matters already pending in regular courts. Common offenses eligible for settlement include speeding, red-light violations, and documentation errors.
Participation requires mandatory online registration via the DSLSA or Delhi Traffic Police websites; walk-in applicants will not be accepted. Attendees must bring all original documents and challan copies to the designated district court complexes on January 10. The Lok Adalat bench will review each case, with the potential to reduce or waive fines based on the offense's nature.
