Lil Nas X Seeks Treatment After Bizarre Arrest Incident

In November 2025, rapper Lil Nas X, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, appeared in a Los Angeles-area courtroom to address his battery arrest from August 2021. The 26-year-old artist was charged with four felonies, including battery with injury on a police officer and resisting an executive officer, after a reported incident involving a "nude man walking in the street" in the early hours of August 21, 2021.

While the judge ultimately postponed the hearing until March 2026, Lil Nas X's attorney, Drew Findling, provided a positive update outside the courthouse. Findling stated that the singer is "doing amazing, doing great" and they are "very confident" of a "positive resolution" in the case.

In the aftermath of the 2021 arrest, Lil Nas X sought care at an undisclosed facility outside of California, as confirmed by his lawyer during a court hearing in September 2021. The judge allowed the rapper to remain out of state as long as he continued his treatment.

Despite the legal troubles, Lil Nas X has maintained a successful music career, with hit singles and a global tour. In a recent statement, the artist hinted that the past few years have been "pretty difficult" but he is now "arriving to this place of feeling confidence" in himself and his work, determined to have "fun this time around."
