A 49-year-old man has been sentenced to life in prison for the 2025 beating death of Alesa Leach, 58. A Duval County judge handed down the sentence last week following the man's conviction in March. Leach was discovered deceased in her home from blunt force trauma on November 17 of last year. Police responding to the scene found her lying on a mattress.
Evidence presented during the investigation indicated the man was inside the home with Leach when she died. He had previously been arrested in Connecticut for violating an injunction for protection that Leach had against him. Following his return to Jacksonville, further investigation led to his formal charges for murder and related offenses in March.
