The operation, conducted in Duazon, east of the capital Monrovia, resulted in the confiscation of 3,971 kilograms of the substance. Two individuals were arrested, one possessing passports from both Spain and Colombia, and the other a Serbian passport.
This significant bust underscores the persistent use of West African nations as transit points for large volumes of cocaine originating from South America and destined for Europe. While the exact source of the seized cocaine is under investigation, authorities are examining markings and conducting chemical analysis. Last month, a separate seizure of 237.6 kg of cocaine, linked to a Dutch drug kingpin, was also intercepted at Roberts International Airport.
