CCTV Exposes Liar Driver in Deadly Lamborghini Crash
2 Nov
Summary
- Driver lied about being asleep during a 143mph fatal crash.
- CCTV proved the defendant was driving and not asleep.
- She failed to appear for sentencing and a warrant was issued.

Humaira Batool, who was convicted of causing death by dangerous driving, is now the subject of a manhunt after failing to appear for her sentencing. She had initially claimed she was asleep during the 143mph Lamborghini Urus crash that killed Mohammed Shaan Hussain, stating he was fiddling with controls.
However, traffic light CCTV footage clearly showed Batool swapping seats with Hussain and taking the wheel. She subsequently drove at speeds reaching 143mph in dark and wet conditions on the M62 near Ripponden, West Yorkshire, before the supercar left the road and overturned.
Despite the evidence, Batool maintained her false account until confronted with the incontrovertible CCTV proof. She was due to be sentenced but contacted emergency services claiming to be unwell and at an A&E. The judge, suspecting she was deliberately avoiding sentencing, issued a warrant for her arrest.
Hussain had rented the Lamborghini and was on his way to collect a friend from HMP Leeds when the fatal incident occurred. Expert testimony confirmed that no buttons or controls other than the driver's foot could cause such acceleration, refuting Batool's claims. Motorists attempted a rescue but were thwarted by the intense fire and explosion. Batool sustained serious injuries, including burns and a shattered tibia.
