Nitrous oxide has been a controlled Class C drug since 2023. The film's writer and director, Luna Berger, explained that 'NOS' was conceived after concerns were raised by the Junior Sports Hub regarding an increase in drug-driving incidents among local youth.
Berger stated that the film's central message is to demonstrate the far-reaching consequences of drug use, emphasizing that such actions negatively affect an entire family.
