- Drug bust involved 820kg of hashish concealed in cakes.

Georges Hanna Dib, a Lebanese food influencer known as 'Dr Food' and likened to 'Breaking Bad,' has received a life sentence with hard labor. He was convicted under Lebanon's Narcotics Law for manufacturing, trafficking, and smuggling banned drugs abroad. The conviction stems from a major drug bust in 2024, where 820kg of hashish was found concealed within cake packaging. This illicit substance was reportedly produced in Baalbek, eastern Lebanon, then transported to Turkiye for international shipment.
Dib, who has amassed over five million TikTok followers, is reportedly no longer in Lebanon. He and other Lebanese and Syrian nationals sentenced in absentia have been stripped of their civil rights. Judge Elie al-Helou imposed the life sentence along with a fine of 120 million Lebanese pounds. Meanwhile, Dib's social media channels remain active, promoting giveaways and sharing recent activities, making no mention of the court's verdict.
