In Launceston, Cornwall, two men have been sentenced to prison for their roles in a violent incident that occurred on July 2, 2024. The altercation took place at an Asda Express petrol station, involving an attempt to shoplift.
During the incident, both a staff member and a customer were assaulted. Crucially, one of the victims was stabbed as he attempted to intervene and prevent the theft. The event was recorded by CCTV cameras.
Casey Foster, aged 22, pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent and assault, receiving a 45-month prison sentence. Royston Morgan, 24, admitted to theft and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, resulting in a 12-month prison term. Police confirmed that despite the violence, neither victim suffered serious injuries.
