19 Jan
Summary
- Eleven individuals were arrested following a large crowd disturbance.
- A street performance disrupted traffic, leading to the formation of an unruly mob.
- An automated taxi was seen immobilized amidst the police presence.

Authorities arrested 11 individuals early yesterday morning on the Las Vegas Strip after a massive crowd formed outside a major venue. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of a street performance that caused significant traffic disruption around 1:30 am. Multiple police units, including 30 vehicles and a helicopter, were dispatched to restore order.
The chaotic scene saw an automated taxi trapped in the road, frozen amidst the heavy police build-up. One officer sustained a minor, uninjured impact from an unidentified projectile during the incident. Normal traffic flow was re-established after more than an hour and a half, with authorities declaring a peaceful resolution.
Investigations are continuing into the event, which occurred on the 3600 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard. The incident comes as Las Vegas grapples with declining tourist numbers, with a notable 9.6 percent drop reported at Harry Reid International Airport in November compared to the previous year.
