- 911 audio released captures response to hotel room murder-suicide.
- Father reported mother and daughter missing before competition.
- Police believe mother killed daughter, then herself, in hotel room.

Audio from a 911 call has been released by authorities, revealing the moments police discovered a mother and her young daughter deceased in a Las Vegas hotel room. The incident, which occurred at the Rio Hotel & Resort, involved a murder-suicide just before an 11-year-old girl's scheduled cheer competition. Police believe the 38-year-old mother shot her daughter and then took her own life, leaving behind a suspected suicide note.
The girl's father, who had jointly shared legal and physical custody of their daughter with the mother following a lengthy court battle, had reported them missing. He last spoke to his daughter before they traveled to Las Vegas for the event. The pair failed to appear for their 9 AM competition, prompting the father's concerned welfare check call to the police.
