- Stolen data includes personnel files and internal affairs investigations.

Sensitive internal documents from the Los Angeles Police Department have allegedly been stolen by cybercriminals and subsequently leaked online. The compromised data is reported to include confidential police officer personnel files, internal affairs investigations, and discovery documents containing unredacted criminal complaints and personal information.
The scale of the breach is substantial, with approximately 7.7 terabytes of data and more than 337,000 files reportedly exposed. The extortion gang World Leaks has been identified as the group behind this data breach.
While the data was briefly available on the gang's leak website, it is no longer listed. The LAPD is investigating the incident, clarifying that it did not involve their systems but rather a digital storage system belonging to the LA City Attorney's Office.
World Leaks, which began its activities in January 2025 as a rebrand of Hunters International, has a history of compromising organizations across various sectors, including healthcare and technology.
