A triple shooting at a Lakewood residence on Thursday resulted in the deaths of a 17-year-old girl and two adults. City Councilmember Todd Rogers confirmed the incident, which occurred on Lorelei Avenue, was a murder-suicide. Responding deputies discovered the three deceased individuals, believed to be members of the same family, inside the home after being alerted by an "extremely distraught" woman who was detained for questioning.
A firearm was recovered by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department at the scene. While the identities of the deceased have not been released, authorities indicated there is no ongoing threat to the public and no outstanding suspects. The detained woman, who was apparently related to the victims, is not considered a suspect or person of interest.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Homicide Bureau or Crime Stoppers. This incident, while deeply affecting the community, has been characterized as an isolated event with no current public safety concerns.
