The Los Angeles City Council has unanimously passed a resolution demanding a comprehensive and transparent review of Casey Wasserman's leadership role with the LA28 Olympic Games. This action follows the public release of emails connecting Wasserman to Ghislaine Maxwell, an associate of Jeffrey Epstein.
The resolution, passed 12-0, highlights concerns about potential conflicts between Olympic values and Wasserman's past associations. It urges LA28 organizers and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to ensure leadership reflects integrity and accountability.
Wasserman has expressed regret for his relationships, stating they predated public knowledge of the duo's crimes. However, the LA28 Executive Committee has publicly supported him, citing an independent review that found his interactions were previously documented.
Despite this, public pressure continues. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and thousands of activists have called for Wasserman's resignation. Following the release of the Epstein files, several musical artists terminated their contracts with Wasserman's talent agency, leading him to initiate the sale of the rebranded agency, now known as The Team.
