LA Agency Accused in Toddler's Tragic Death
26 Feb
Summary
- Toddler died from blunt head trauma and spinal cord injury.
- Father had prior child abuse conviction and criminal history.
- Mother sued LA County child welfare for negligence.

A 14-month-old toddler, Tilly Servin, died on November 10, 2025, from blunt head trauma and a severe spinal cord injury while in the care of her father, Alfredo Muñoz Jr. Muñoz, who had a previous child abuse conviction in 2021, was subsequently charged with murder.
Tilly's mother, Alexis Servin, filed a lawsuit against Los Angeles County and its child services agency. The suit alleges that returning Tilly to Muñoz, who had an extensive criminal record dating back to 1999, presented an extreme and foreseeable danger.
The autopsy revealed a pattern of injuries inconsistent with the father's explanation of an accidental fall, indicating repeated trauma. Muñoz and his wife, Kelly Muñoz, also convicted of child cruelty in 2021, face charges including murder and torture.
Attorneys for Tilly's mother argue that the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services was aware of Muñoz's violent history and substance abuse issues. An investigator's email from March 2025 warned that Muñoz's substance abuse endangered Tilly's physical health and safety.
