The Kurukshetra district police announced the arrest of a narcotics supplier on Saturday, following the recovery of 2.11 kilograms of opium. The crime investigation agency (CIA), Ladwa, made the arrest under the supervision of Kurukshetra SP Nitish Aggarwal.

The accused, identified as Baljinder Singh from Punjab's Barnala district, was apprehended for allegedly supplying the recovered narcotic substance. The seizure occurred on January 15 when police intercepted Sukhdev Singh, another resident of Barnala district, near the Gumthala Garhu police post.

During a search of Sukhdev Singh's vehicle, a canter, police discovered 2.11 kg of opium. A case under the NDPS Act was registered at Pehowa Sadar police station, leading to Sukhdev Singh's arrest. Subsequent investigation identified Baljinder Singh as the supplier, resulting in his arrest on January 30.

Baljinder Singh was presented before the court as per legal procedures. The police continue their efforts to dismantle drug networks operating in the region.
