Tragedy struck Jogna Khera village in Kurukshetra on Sunday when a 65-year-old man, Labh Singh, was allegedly murdered due to an old rivalry. The victim was reportedly attacked with a spade by a fellow villager, identified as 40-year-old Surjit Singh.
Authorities from the Kurukshetra University police station, along with forensic and scene-of-crime teams, were dispatched to the location. Preliminary investigations suggest the incident is rooted in a long-standing dispute between the families of the victim and the accused.
The SHO confirmed that a murder case has been registered against Surjit Singh, who is currently evading arrest. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are expected upon the apprehension of the suspect. A post-mortem examination was scheduled for Monday.
