A man's attempt to pose as a victim after a savage home invasion attack has resulted in a 30-year prison sentence. Elliott Mallett broke into a woman's home in Ipswich and stabbed her multiple times before falsely claiming he had been the victim of a robbery.
Bodycam footage captured Mallett's chilling deception as he told responding officers he had just been attacked. However, inconsistencies in his story and evidence found at the scene, including items belonging to the victim and a matching knife, exposed his lies. Doorbell footage also contradicted his claims.
The victim, who suffered stab wounds to her neck, face, hands, shoulder, and leg, described her life as shattered by the attack, living in constant fear. Mallett was found guilty of attempted murder and aggravated burglary, with authorities emphasizing the victim's bravery in fighting back.
