29 Apr
Summary
- Prime accused doctor's bail plea rejected by Bombay HC.
- International organ trafficking network exposed through illegal kidney sale.
- Special team dispatched to arrest the prime accused.

In a significant development concerning the Chandrapur kidney trafficking case, the Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court has denied the anticipatory bail plea of Dr. Ravinder Pal Singh. He is considered the primary accused in an international organ trafficking network that was exposed following the illegal kidney sale of a Nagbhid resident.
The court's decision, which came after 20 hearings, has paved the way for Dr. Singh's immediate arrest. A specialized team from the Local Crime Branch has been dispatched to apprehend him. This case first came to light when investigations revealed that Roshan Kule, a resident of Nagbhid, had his kidney illegally removed in Cambodia.
Further inquiries uncovered an extensive cross-border organ trafficking operation. It is suspected that Dr. Singh, along with Dr. Rajaratnam Govindasamy, conducted illicit transplant procedures at a private hospital in Trichy. Despite previously securing interim relief twice, Dr. Singh's plea was dismissed due to the gravity of the charges and substantial evidence.
The prosecution's case is significantly strengthened by a 5,000-page chargesheet filed by the police, supported by evidence gathered from various cities, including Kolkata and Delhi. Investigators are hopeful that Dr. Singh's arrest will shed light on deeper financial connections and additional suspects within the syndicate.
