Lucknow Police have escalated their search for a King George's Medical University (KGMU) junior resident doctor, placing a Rs 25,000 bounty on information leading to his arrest. The accused, who has been missing for several days with his phone switched off, faces severe charges including sexual exploitation, blackmail, and religious coercion. A non-bailable warrant has been issued by the court.
The case, registered at Chowk police station, includes charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for deceitful sexual relations, criminal intimidation, and mental harassment, alongside sections of the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act, 2021. Investigators are also probing allegations that the accused coerced his wife into religious conversion before their marriage and are attempting to contact another woman he allegedly married recently.
