A young woman, Leija Michael, is recovering after suffering life-threatening injuries from a stabbing outside her home in Kew. The attack occurred around 1 am on Wednesday, when an 18-year-old male known to her ambushed her in her driveway. The assailant, who had graduated from an elite private school last year, fled the scene and drove over 350 kilometres to the rural township of Antwerp. His body was subsequently found, and police have stated his death is not being treated as suspicious. Victoria Police confirmed the man was known to them prior to the attack.
