A disturbing incident in Ramanthali, Payyannur, Kerala, has left a community in shock after a father and his mother are suspected of poisoning two young children. Investigators believe pesticide was mixed into milk, which was then given to the children at their home. A bottle containing the lethal mixture was reportedly found at the scene, pointing towards a premeditated act.
The tragedy appears to be linked to a custody dispute. The children's father, Kaladharan, was reportedly separated from his wife, Nayanthara, who had sought police intervention to regain custody. A court had mandated Kaladharan to hand over the children, with police having contacted him the previous night.
Following the children's deaths, Kaladharan and his mother, Usha, are also believed to have died by suicide. An alleged suicide note was recovered from the location. The police have registered a case of unnatural death and are continuing their thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding this devastating event.
