KAS Officer Caught Red-Handed in Bribery Scheme

A KAS officer serving as a special land acquisition officer for National Highway-206, Siddalinga Reddy, has been apprehended by Lokayukta police in Shivamogga on suspicion of bribery. The arrest was precipitated by a complaint from Keshavamurthy, a local resident.
Reddy, formerly an additional deputy commissioner in Shivamogga, reportedly demanded Rs 40,000. This sum was allegedly requested to expedite the release of a rental cheque for November 2025.
Lokayukta police, acting on the complaint, observed a village assistant, Rajesh, meeting the complainant near Shivamogga's Nehru Stadium on February 14, purportedly to collect the bribe money. Both Reddy and Rajesh were subsequently taken into custody for further investigation.
