A Kargil War veteran, Group Captain Amit Kumar Gupta (retired), was severely injured in an assault by a parking attendant at Gurugram's Magnum Global Park. The incident occurred on a Thursday night when Gupta was looking for parking after dropping his family for dinner. After being redirected multiple times, an attendant allegedly struck his car and then attacked him with an iron rod, causing a head injury and a broken hand.
Gupta, who served in the Indian Air Force's 'Op Safed Sagar' in 1999, recounted that no security personnel intervened, and police assistance was delayed. He was eventually taken to Medanta Hospital, where he underwent surgery for his elbow. The veteran has lodged a complaint demanding action against the accused for attempted murder and grievous hurt, also alleging the hospital submitted an inaccurate medico-legal report.
He expressed frustration over the lack of support from authorities. The incident highlights a serious lapse in security and emergency response at the commercial complex, leaving a decorated war hero vulnerable and demanding justice.
