- Her husband fled when her mother arrived at the scene.

A tragic incident unfolded in Kanpur's Shatabdi Nagar on Monday, where a 27-year-old woman, Deepika Saini, was found dead under suspicious circumstances. Her husband, Shoeb Khan, allegedly fled the rented apartment shortly after her mother arrived and began questioning him.
Neighbors reported hearing a heated argument between Deepika and Shoeb on Monday afternoon, approximately two hours before the house fell silent. They later intervened after allegedly seeing Shoeb forcefully open the door, finding Deepika unconscious on the bed.
Upon the arrival of Deepika's mother and other relatives, Shoeb reportedly fled when discussions turned to contacting the police. A forensic team has collected evidence from the scene. Initial findings by the police indicate strangulation marks on Deepika's neck, though the possibility of suicide is also being examined.
The body has been sent for post-mortem examination to determine the definitive cause of death. The investigation will proceed based on a complaint filed by the woman's mother, who has alleged dowry-related murder. Police have formed three teams to locate the absconding husband.
