The survivor had reportedly been raped by her uncle and cousin two years prior. Her pregnancy was discovered after she complained of stomach pain, leading to an ultrasound. She delivered a child eight months ago at a government hospital, but tragically, the infant passed away three days later.
Both accused were initially jailed but were subsequently released on bail. Their alleged continued pressure on the victim's family for a compromise is cited by the father as the reason for his daughter's tragic end. The deceased was the second of four sisters. The local police station has confirmed that a post-mortem examination has been completed and the matter is under investigation.
