Tragedy struck in Kanpur's Gambhirpur village early Sunday when a 28-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death. The victim was reportedly visiting a woman in the village with whom he was in a relationship. His family stated that the woman called him around 2 am, and shortly after, her husband and relatives allegedly found them together.
The accused reportedly assaulted the victim with sticks. Later, the woman's father-in-law allegedly informed the victim's family that he was found injured at their home. Rushed to a hospital, doctors declared him dead. His body was sent for postmortem examination.
Family members protested at the Saadh police station, demanding swift action against the perpetrators. Police have launched an investigation and stated that the accused, who fled after locking their house, will be apprehended soon.
