Husband Kills Wife, Then Commits Suicide Over Infidelity Suspicions

On Monday, a tragic incident unfolded in Bamburiha village in the Maharajpur police station area of Kanpur. A 41-year-old man, Shribabu, killed his 35-year-old wife, Shanti, over suspicions about her character and then hanged himself with a scarf.

Shribabu and Shanti had been married since 2017 and had three children together - Nitya (6 years old), Akush (5 years old), and Arpit (3 years old). According to the deceased's younger brother, Rambabu, Shribabu had been previously married to a woman named Nanhki, but she had left him years ago for another relative.

Neighbors reported that Shribabu and Shanti frequently argued over the same issue, with Shribabu suspecting his wife of having an affair. On Sunday night, after the children went to bed, the couple had another argument about this. The next morning, the children discovered Shanti's body in their room. As they cried, neighbors came to the scene and found Shribabu hanging in the animal shed in front of the house.

The local police arrived and began investigating the tragic circumstances surrounding the couple's deaths. Villagers gathered at the site, and discussions about the tragedy spread through the community. Maharajpur police station in-charge Sanjay Pandey confirmed that the man had killed his wife before taking his own life.
