A special court in Kanpur has sentenced five individuals, including a father and his sons, to life imprisonment for a fatal attack. The incident occurred in Mawai village on November 27, 2021, where three brothers were assaulted with axes, sickles, and sticks due to an old feud.
One of the brothers, Arjun, died en route to the hospital, while his two siblings sustained serious injuries. The court convicted Ram Kishori, her sons Dhirendra, Veer Singh, and Rambharat, along with Rambharat's son Shatrughan Singh, for murder and attempted murder. They were each fined Rs 9,000.
The proceedings were initiated based on a complaint filed by the victim's brother. Another accused, Sampatrani, was acquitted due to insufficient evidence, and one of the accused, Arvind, died during the trial. This verdict brings a judicial resolution to the violent events that transpired over two years ago.
