18 Aug
Summary
- Wife and brother of Abhay Tiwari arrested by CID officers.
- Arrests linked to JPSC and JSSC examination irregularities probe.
- JSSC CGL recruitment process annulled following paper leak allegations.

In connection with alleged irregularities in Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) examinations, CID officers arrested the wife and brother of Abhay Tiwari, a significant accused, on Tuesday. Identified as Sushma Kumari and Akshay Kumar Tiwari, their arrests are part of the ongoing probe into the 14th JPSC examination scam and other state recruitment exams. Abhay Tiwari, an employee of TSR Data Processing Ltd, a private agency involved with JPSC, was previously apprehended. His wife and brother had successfully cleared the 2024 JSSC CGL examination, the recruitment for which is currently under investigation. The state government recently announced the annulment of the entire JSSC CGL recruitment process. This examination had faced cancellation due to paper leak allegations, leading to a re-examination in September 2024 and subsequent issuance of appointment letters. Separately, CID questioned JSSC secretary Sudhir Gupta, and secured a five-day remand for three individuals previously arrested in the JPSC case for further interrogation.
