CID Probes JPSC Over Blacklisted Agency Selection

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Ranchi has been actively investigating alleged irregularities in the Jharkhand Public Service Commission's (JPSC) 14th Combined Civil Services Examination. Former JPSC chairperson L Khiangte was questioned for several hours on consecutive days as part of this probe.
The investigation is focusing on the selection process for the agency tasked with conducting the examination, with allegations that a blacklisted firm was chosen without a thorough background check. Khiangte has reportedly been questioned about his involvement in this selection.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, the CID has arrested 10 people, including JPSC deputy controller of examinations Shweta Gupta. The Main examination for the civil services has been postponed. The CID has also requested candidates who qualified the preliminary exam to submit carbon copies of their OMR sheets for Papers I and II via WhatsApp or email.
Khiangte has been summoned again for further questioning on Friday. Candidates without OMR sheets are also encouraged to provide their roll numbers and reasons for unavailability.
