Immediately after the incident, Singh was rushed to the Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. According to the additional commissioner of police, Ajay Pal Sharma, the preliminary investigation suggests that the accused, Vishal, and the deceased had a dispute a few days prior, though the exact cause is still being probed.
Vishal has been arrested, and the police are currently searching for two other suspects believed to be involved in the murder. The tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, as Laxmi Narayan Singh was a well-known journalist in the region.
