Socialite Arrested for Rs 22 Lakh Job Scam

A 45-year-old woman has been arrested in Keonjhar for her alleged involvement in a significant job scam, defrauding numerous aspiring candidates. Sureswari Sagarika Jena, a resident of Jalkalang, was apprehended on Saturday by police from Khandagiri in Bhubaneswar.
She was reportedly operating under the guise of social activities, having presented herself as a social worker and leader of an organization to gain public trust. Police investigations revealed that Jena collected substantial amounts, totaling Rs 22 lakh, from individuals seeking employment.
Following a tip-off, a team from Khandagiri police, with support from Nandipada police in Keonjhar, placed Jena under surveillance and subsequently arrested her from her residence. She had previously attempted to secure anticipatory bail to avoid detention.
Jena has been brought to Bhubaneswar for further questioning. Authorities are continuing their investigation to ascertain if more individuals have fallen victim to her fraudulent schemes.
