In a remarkable display of integrity, an e-rickshaw driver named Dharampal Ahirwar (35) in Jhansi returned a bag containing jewelry valued at approximately Rs 13 lakh. The incident occurred on Monday when a woman, traveling from her parental home to Sipri Bazar, inadvertently left the bag in Ahirwar's e-rickshaw.
Upon discovering the bag after dropping off the passenger, Ahirwar realized it likely contained valuables. He made efforts to locate the woman at the drop-off point but was unsuccessful. Subsequently, he contacted his village head, Prahallad Yadav, who helped him connect with the Sipri Bazar police.
Coincidentally, the woman and her husband had also reported the lost bag to the police. Both parties were called to the SSP's office on Tuesday, where Ahirwar returned the bag. SSP Jhansi BBGTS Murthy lauded Ahirwar's honesty, presenting him with a certificate and a cash award, urging others to emulate his virtuous act.
