Jewish Visitor Attacked in London Hate Crime

A 22-year-old Jewish man visiting London from Israel reported being brutally assaulted by a group of men during the early hours of Monday. The Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation into the incident, which occurred in Golders Green, north London. Authorities are treating the case as an antisemitic hate crime.

The victim sustained injuries to his face, neck, and back, requiring hospital treatment from which he was later discharged. He recounted that his attackers shouted antisemitic slurs and repeatedly kicked him, asking if he was Jewish. He believes he was targeted because he was speaking Hebrew and appeared visibly Jewish.

This attack occurs amid growing concerns about antisemitism in London. The Metropolitan Police had recently announced a new Community Protection Team of 100 officers to bolster the safety of Jewish communities. The Community Security Trust has condemned the incident as a violent and appalling attack. Inquiries into the assault are ongoing, and police are appealing for witnesses, with no arrests made as of the current date.
