In response to a series of crimes, including a murder in late June, East Singhbhum police have launched a comprehensive community policing initiative across Jamshedpur and the wider district. This effort aims to rebuild public trust and enhance cooperation between law enforcement and citizens. Meetings were convened from July 13 to July 15 in all police station areas, chaired by Deputy Superintendents of Police, involving prominent citizens and peace committee members.
An objective of this initiative, directed by SSP Ehtesham Waquarib, is to bolster the effectiveness of community policing. ASP Rishab Trivedi emphasized the goal of strengthening coordination and promoting cordial relations. Police have signaled strict enforcement against brown sugar trade, illegal gatherings, and businesses operating beyond regulated hours.
During a recent meeting at Sonari police station, discussions focused on crime control and preventive measures. DSP (Headquarters-2) Manoj Kumar underscored the vital role of public participation, urging residents to report suspicious activities promptly. Citizens voiced concerns about rising substance abuse, frequent shoplifting, chain snatching, and house break-ins. Police assured that actionable measures would be implemented to address these issues.
