A swift operation by the Jugsalai police in Jamshedpur led to the apprehension of a gemstone thief. The suspect, identified as Arbaz Khan, 20, was arrested at the Parvati crematorium on Sunday.
Khan is accused of decamping with a box containing 443 precious stones, valued at Rs 2.50 lakh, from a local gemstone shop on Saturday. The shopkeeper's absence provided the opportunity for the theft. However, CCTV cameras installed at the shop captured crucial footage that aided the police in identifying the perpetrator.
Arbaz Khan, a resident of Panchi in Jugsalai, was promptly presented before the court and sent to jail. Police confirmed that Khan has a history of similar offenses and has been jailed previously for such crimes, indicating a pattern of criminal activity.
