In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the Jammu police have busted two major drug networks and arrested 8 drug peddlers, including 4 women, in the past 48 hours. The arrests were made in the Rajeev Nagar (Bahu Fort) and RS Pura areas of Jammu district, leading to the recovery of 500 grams of heroin worth crores of rupees.
The police operation began on October 17, 2025, when the Bahu Fort police busted a heroin supply chain and arrested two people with 330 grams of the drug and cash proceeds of the crime. Further investigations led to the arrest of one Vishal Kumar from Narwal, Jammu, with 275 grams of heroin and an electronic weighing machine.
The police also apprehended four women drug peddlers - Reena, Sheetal, Payal, and Kajal - all residents of Rajeev Nagar, Narwal. From their possession, the authorities recovered 55 grams of heroin, two weighing machines, and Rs 33,490 in cash. Additionally, three other drug peddlers - Inderjeet, Vishal Kumar, and Jagdish Raj - were arrested in the Chak Talab area of RS Pura, with 186 grams of heroin seized from them.
The coordinated crackdown by the Jammu police has dealt a significant blow to the local drug trade, taking several key players off the streets and recovering a substantial quantity of the highly addictive substance.
