In a significant crackdown, Jaipur police arrested three members of an alleged vehicle theft syndicate, led by kingpin Sanjay Rajput, on Sunday. The operation resulted in the recovery of 10 stolen two-wheelers. The police reported that the accused were involved in numerous thefts across different city areas, with the motive of financing their drug addiction and personal needs.
This bust is a result of intensified surveillance efforts directed by Deputy Commissioner of Police Karan Sharma. The Manak Chowk police surveillance team, investigating a scooter theft near Govind Dev Ji Temple, analyzed CCTV footage and tracked suspect routes. The arrested individuals, identified as Sanjay Rajput, Sidharth Khinchi, and Ritik Swami, confessed to stealing dozens of two-wheelers.
Initially, the gang allegedly stole helmets from parked vehicles at crowded places like Govind Dev Ji Temple and Janta Bazaar, selling them to motorists for quick cash to support their drug habits. Later, they escalated to stealing two-wheelers, concealing them, and planning to sell them cheaply across Jaipur.
