An eight-month-pregnant woman, Kiran, 32, was allegedly strangled to death by her live-in partner, Pravesh Rawat, 22, in Jaipur. Rawat, who was reportedly Kiran's nephew but in a romantic relationship, then buried her body in the lawn of their rented house in the Bindayaka area.
Police recovered Kiran's body four days after the alleged murder on September 23. Rawat reportedly dug a pit, buried the body with salt, and covered it, allegedly inspired by crime films. He then visited a temple and continued working to avoid suspicion before fleeing.
Rawat was arrested near the Uttar Pradesh border after switching off his phone and fleeing Jaipur. He initially claimed Kiran died by suicide. Police are continuing their investigation to determine the exact motive and sequence of events.
