- Family accused police of negligence, claiming they could have saved him
On September 26, 2025, a tragic incident occurred in Jaipur, India, where a 26-year-old man named Ravi Nama died by suicide after allegedly consuming poison. According to the report, Nama, a resident of Govindpura in Sanganer Sadar, worked at a finance company.
Earlier that day, around 7 am, Nama left his home on his bike. Around 1:30 pm, he called his elder brother Ganesh and said, "I have taken poison and am going to die. I am leaving everything behind," before disconnecting the call. Despite repeated attempts, his phone soon switched off.
Nama's brother-in-law, Bhavesh Sumeriya, claimed that when they rushed to the Sanganer Sadar police station, the duty officer refused to help, telling them to come back "when he dies" and that they would then conduct the postmortem. An hour later, the police located Nama's body near the railway tracks, with his bike parked nearby.
The family has accused the police of negligence, alleging that timely intervention could have saved Nama's life. However, a senior police officer denied the allegations, stating that the family informed them, and the duty officer immediately began a search, but by the time they reached the location, Nama had already passed away.
The Government Railway Police (GRP) has shifted Nama's body to a private hospital and informed his family. The police have stated that further investigation is underway.
