A 50-year-old man has been arrested in Jaipur for the alleged murder of his estranged wife, 42-year-old Meenu Sharma. Her body was discovered near a railway underpass close to the Tantiyawas toll plaza in Chomu on April 20, 2026.
Police stated the murder was a result of a prolonged domestic dispute, as the couple had been separated for seven years. The accused reportedly convinced his wife to meet him under the guise of a conversation before committing the crime.
Meenu Sharma had left her home on Sunday afternoon, April 19, 2026, to buy clothes and never returned. Her brother identified the body, which was found with a cloth tied around her face, raising immediate suspicions of foul play. The husband was taken into custody and, during interrogation, the sequence of events leading to the murder reportedly unraveled. Investigators believe he attempted to mislead them by disposing of the body near the underpass. Further investigations are continuing.
