Three individuals have been apprehended in Jaipur for their alleged involvement in a failed kidnapping attempt and ransom plot. The arrested men, identified as Chetan Sharma, Zainul Khan, and Hanuman Prajapat, were taken into custody on Friday. Police revealed that the trio had previously attempted a similar kidnapping approximately ten days before the September 10 incident, but this earlier attempt was unsuccessful.
Investigations suggest the accused lacked the necessary experience for such operations. The prior attempt reportedly failed during its planning or execution phase, with one instance thwarted by a large crowd at Central Park. The plan involved forcing the victim into their own vehicle and transporting them to a hideout to demand a ransom of Rs 20 lakh.
The primary motivation for the scheme was to repay significant personal debts. Chetan Sharma reportedly owed over Rs 12 lakh, while Hanuman Prajapat had outstanding debts of around Rs 11 lakh. The recovered items include motorcycles, an electric scooter, a fake pistol, and a knife. A fourth suspect believed to be part of the conspiracy remains at large.
