Motorcycle Mob Terrorizes Jagraon Market

On Tuesday night, the Kukkad Chowk market in Jagraon was terrorized by a group of approximately 15 masked individuals riding motorcycles. These assailants launched an unprovoked assault, hurling stones and bricks at shops. The violent incident shattered storefronts and forced terrified shoppers and traders to seek safety, leading to the market's shutdown.

At least two individuals sustained injuries during the barrage of projectiles, with one person reportedly collapsing after being struck by a brick. The aftermath saw the market streets littered with debris, sparking anger and calls for decisive action from the local business community who fear a descent into lawlessness.

Jagraon City police have initiated a formal investigation into the matter, spurred by a video of the attack circulating on social media. While the motive remains unclear, authorities believe they are close to identifying all perpetrators. CCTV and mobile-phone footage have been instrumental in identifying several youths involved.

Special teams are actively conducting raids to apprehend the suspects who are currently at large. The police have assured that strict legal action will be pursued to deter future acts of hooliganism and restore order to the commercial area.
