Jade Goody's Widower Jack Tweed Faces Driving Ban

Jack Tweed, the widower of reality TV personality Jade Goody, has been disqualified from driving for 12 months after admitting to driving a vehicle while under the influence of cannabis. The court heard that Tweed, 39, was stopped by police on Three Mile Hill near Chelmsford, Essex, on December 6, 2025. Officers suspected cannabis use, and a roadside test confirmed its presence in his system.

A blood sample taken from Tweed revealed 5.6 micrograms of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, exceeding the legal limit of two micrograms. He pleaded guilty at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court to driving with a specified controlled drug above the limit. Tweed was fined £692 and ordered to pay £277 in surcharges and £85 in costs.

Tweed, who previously served seven convictions for 14 offences, including a 2007 drink-driving charge, explained to the court that he used cannabis to help with sleep due to depression and anxiety. He acknowledged his actions were a "stupid decision" and apologized for driving in the morning. He currently works as an electrician and fears the ban will negatively impact his life.

Magistrate Andrew McGregor informed Tweed that his photocard licence is no longer valid and he must apply to the DVLA for a new one following his disqualification period. Tweed expressed his commitment to working on himself and finding alternative methods for managing sleep and anxiety.
