Summary
- Constable Amandeep Kaur, known as 'Insta Queen', is out on bail after over five months.
- She faced charges for disproportionate assets and possessing heroin.
- Vigilance Bureau found her expenditure was Rs 31 lakh over her known income.

Constable Amandeep Kaur, widely recognized as the 'Insta Queen' and 'Thar wali constable', has been granted bail in the disproportionate assets case, leading to her release after more than five months in jail. This follows her earlier bail in a separate case involving heroin possession. Kaur was arrested by the vigilance bureau on May 26, 2025, for allegedly accumulating assets beyond her known sources of income.
The vigilance bureau's investigation into her finances between 2018 and 2025 uncovered a significant financial disparity. Her total income during this period was reported as Rs 1.8 crore, while her expenditures amounted to Rs 1.39 crore, revealing an excess of Rs 31 lakh, or 28.85%, beyond her legitimate earnings. This led to the registration of a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
Prior to her arrest in the DA case, Kaur was apprehended on April 2, 2025, with 17.71 grams of heroin found in her vehicle. She had secured bail in that instance on May 1, 2025. Kaur gained notoriety for her frequent use of Instagram, often posting reels while in police uniform, which is against service rules.
