On October 11th, 2025, disgraced Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins was murdered in the high-security HMP Wakefield prison, where he was serving a 29-year sentence for child sex offenses. Watkins, once a prominent Welsh musician, had been convicted in 2013 for a string of horrific child sex crimes, including the attempted rape of a baby. The twisted singer had used his fame to manipulate and abuse children. In the latest incident, the 48-year-old was stabbed in the neck and pronounced dead by paramedics.
This is not the first time Watkins has been attacked in prison. In August 2023, he was reportedly taken hostage and stabbed by fellow inmates before being freed by officers six hours later. However, his injuries were not life-threatening on that occasion.
