Maryland State Police are investigating the death of Colin Wolf, a 32-year-old inmate at Roxbury Correctional Institution in Washington County. Wolf was found unresponsive in his cell on Wednesday, May 20, at approximately 11:15 p.m. Emergency medical personnel pronounced him deceased.
Wolf was serving a sentence for a 2015 first-degree murder conviction. He had pleaded guilty to killing his 2-month-old niece, Aubree Roberts, in April 2013. Authorities stated Wolf committed the crime because he was angry at his sister. He was sentenced to 33 years in state prison.
The Maryland State Police Homicide Unit assumed the investigation into Wolf's death, with assistance from the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services Internal Investigative Unit. Investigators believe Wolf's cellmate was present at the time of his death. The investigation will be presented to the Office of the State's Attorney in Washington County for review.
